The Xtra Factor App

For the 2nd season of The X Factor, Verizon enhanced their Xtra Factor app with new features. The integrated campaign focused on the two sides of Simon Cowell—the soft-hearted supporter and the brutally honest critic. Good Simon and Bad Simon play off each other in interesting ways and promote the show and the app through various media.

 

#GoodSimon vs # BadSimon

We created a Twitter hashtag battle during each show to see which Simon comes out on top. Fans proclaimed their allegiance to either side by tweeting messages to either #GoodSimon or #BadSimon during the show. The side with the most tweets wins bragging rights for the week.

 

Simoticons

Simon’s facial expressions speak volumes. They let you know exactly what he’s thinking before he even opens up his mouth—for good or for worse. So we took these iconic expressions and turned them into emoticons that people can use to comment on a Facebook post, photo, or video. Excitement, boredom, or disgust—“Simoticons” say it all.
